IDT's core business is the design and implementation of communications networks to support specialist applications such as building control, traffic management and industrial processes. Many of our solutions are intended for use in environmentally-challenging locations such as on the highway or inside bridge structures.

The solutions we deploy use wireless and wireline technologies and a typical solution will use a mixture operating seamlessly in a single network.

We have designed a number of products in support of our implementation activities including a GPRS Router which enables a local area network to be extended across GPRS while making the GPRS network transparent to any network-attached devices.

Our VPN Router provides secure IP communications across any network media and is often used in conjunction with our GPRS router to provide secure data networks.

In recent years we have been closely involved with the UK Department for Transport's Urban Traffic Management and Control programme and have supplied car park occupancy counting solutions and traffic flow counting solutions which comply in full with the UTMC technical specifications.
